Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering (GATE) 2014 - Form Submission Deadline

Date of Online Examination :- February 2, 15 and 16 as well as March 1 and 2, 2014 Receipt of printed version of Online application forms at respective GATE Office : October 10, 2013 Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The GATE committee, which comprises of representatives from the administering institutes, is the sole authority for regulating the examination and declaring the results. GATE is conducted through the constitution of eight zones. The zones and the corresponding administrative institutes are: Zone-1: Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru Zone-2: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Zone-3: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Zone-4: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati Zone-5: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur Zone-6: Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur Zone-7: Indian Institute of Technology Madras Zone-8: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee The choice of the paper is the responsibility of the candidate. GATE Qualification Admission to postgraduate programmes with MHRD and some other Government scholarships/assistantships in engineering colleges /institutes is open to those who qualify in GATE examination. GATE qualified candidates with Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture or Master's degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications are eligible for admission to Master's degree programmes in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science with MHRD or other government scholarships/assistantships. To avail the scholarship, the candidate must secure admission to such a postgraduate programme, as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution. However, candidates with Master's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture may seek admission to relevant Doctoral programmes with scholarship/assistantship without appearing in the GATE examination. GATE qualification is also a minimum requirement to apply for various fellowships awarded by many Government organizations. Eligibility The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear in GATE 2014: Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master’s degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology. Candidates in the fourth or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master’s degree programme or Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology. Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AME by ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible. How to Apply Candidates need to apply/ register ONLINE for GATE 2014. Application process for GATE 2014 is entirely ONLINE, and sale of application forms through banks / GATE office counters has been discontinued. Details for applying ONLINE are available on the websites of IISc and the seven IITs. The application fee is Rs.1200/- for General/OBC Category candidates and Rs.600/- for SC/ST/PD Category candidates. The application fee is non-refundable. Examination The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3 hours duration which contains 65 questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of only objective questions. The examination for the papers with codes AE, AG, AR, BT, CE, CH, CY, GG, MA, MN, MT, PH, TF, XE and XL will be carried out ONLINE using computers where the candidates will be required to enter the answer for each question using mouse. For all other papers, the candidates will have to mark the correct choice on an Optical Response Sheet (ORS) by darkening the appropriate bubble against each question. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer, except for some questions. Each GATE paper shall have a General Aptitude (GA) component carrying 15 marks. For more details refer the official wesite. GATE Results and Scorecard GATE 2014 results will be announced on GATE websites of IISc and seven IITs. The score is valid for TWO YEARS from the date of announcement of the GATE 2014 results. GATE 2014 results may be made available on payment basis to interested organizations (educational institutions, R&D laboratories, industries, etc.) in India and abroad based on a Memorandum of Understanding between IIT Delhi and the requesting organization. MICA Announces MICAT 2014 Registration Starts From September - Form Submission Deadline

About MICAT 2014: MICAT is the entrance exam conducted by MICA for its flagship 2 year Post Graduate Diploma in Management– Communication (PGDM-C). The candidates who will take any of the national MBA entrance exams among CAT 2013, XAT 2014, MAT 2013-14, CMAT September 2013 and ATMA 2013 (February/May/July) or GMAT 2010 onwards will be eligible to take MICAT. It is a paper pencil based test which is a combination of both subjective and objective. Exam: MICA Admissions Test 2014 (MICAT 2014) Conducting Institute: Mudra Institute of Communication Ahmedabad (MICA) MICAT 2014 Eligibility: The MICAT 2014 Eligibility mentions that candidates should be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university in a 10+2+3 system or equivalent. The applicants should also appear for the exams like CAT 2013, XAT 2014, MAT 2013-14, CMAT September 2013 and ATMA 2013 (February/May/July) or GMAT 2010 onwards. Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for MICAT. MICAT 2014 Exam Date: MICAT 2014 exam will be held in February or March 2014. Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) 2013 - Form Submission Deadline

Payment Closes on : November 26, 2013 SNAP Test : December 13, 2013 SNAP Test Result : January 9, 2014 Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is a mandatory written test for admission into any postgraduate programme at any Symbiosis Institute. These institutes are either affiliated to SIEC Deemed University or approved by AICTE. SNAP Test is conducted under the aegis of SIEC Deemed University. Each institute has its own selection process and a student aspiring to do higher studies at Symbiosis needs to do the following: Stage 1: SNAP Test Register online on its official website. To upload a latest scanned photograph of own at the time of SNAP Online Registration. Follow the instructions for payment for Test fee of Rs. 1550/- on its oficial website. Any Changes in the online application form may be made only up to the closing date of Registration All disputes between candidate and the Symbiosis Test Secretariat shall be subject to exclusive jurisdiction of Pune city and by Arbitrator only. On closing of Registration, print 'Admit Card' from the website. Admit Card along with Photo Identity proof to be carried to the Test Centre at the time of test. (Candidates should note that authenticated Admit Card is an important document without which the candidate will not be permitted to appear for further selection processes of the institutes. If Admit card is lost, no duplicate Admit Card will be issued. It should be preserved till admission process is over). SNAP Score will remain valid for admission to all Post Graduate Programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for the academic year of 2013-14 Stage 2: Submission of Application fee to the desired constituent institute of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) Fee of Rs.1000/- as Institute Application fee to the chosen institutes as instructions given on institute website. To apply to an institute a candidate must register for the SNAP 2013. The SNAP website allows a facility for online payment for application fee for many of its constituent institutes along with online payment of SNAP fee. Complete the application procedure of the desired institute. Candidate can also apply from the institute website. Candidate can apply for more than one institute. Stage 3: Attend the call for further selection process of the chosen institutes. Each institute has its own weightages for arriving at a cutoff, depending on its focused field. For example, SIMC may have lower weightages for Quantitative Section while SCIT or SICSR may have a higher weightages for the same section. The institutes will announce a short list for attending further selection process. The individual institutes as per their schedules will announce Short List & Waiting Lists. ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test (IBSAT) 2013 - Form Submission Deadline

Entrance Test :- 16th December 2013 - 7th January 2014 IBSAT is an aptitude test conducted by the Federation of Universities (FedUni), for students seeking admission into the management programs. IBSAT consists of multiple choice questions. IBSAT is for 2 hours duration and is aimed to test the applicant's ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension. Programmes 2-year MBA Program Postgraduate Program in Management (PGPM) Eligibility : Graduates (any discipline) in English medium with 50% and above aggregate marks. Final year students awaiting results can also apply. How to Apply Applicants interested in appearing for IBSAT can apply by any one of the following methods. A. OMR Application Form Applicants are required to fill up the OMR Application Form enclosed and send it to the Admissions Officer, IBSAT Office (address given on the left hand side). The self attested copies of X Class, XII Class and graduation marks sheets are to be enclosed along with the OMR Application Form. The students in the final year of graduation may enclose the marksheets up to the current semester/ year. B. Online Application Applicants can apply online by filling up the Application Form available on its official website and make payment of Rs.1,500 towards the cost using Credit/Debit Card (Visa/ MasterCard/ Citibank Card) through secure internet payment gateway. Joint Admission Test For M.Sc. - JAM 2014 - Form Submission Deadline

Date of JAM 2014 Test: 9 February 2014 From the Academic Session 2004-05, IITs have started conducting a Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM). The objective of JAM is to provide admissions to M.Sc. (TwoYear), Joint Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc. M.Tech., and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programs at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programs at IISc and to consolidate Science as a career option for bright students from across the country. JAM is expected to serve as a benchmark for the undergraduate level science education in the country. The integrated Ph.D. Program at IISc was started in the early 90’s to enable students to directly join for a Ph.D. egree after their B.Sc. Degree. The M.Sc. (Two-Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programs at the IITs and the integrated Ph.D. Program at IISc offer high quality education in their respective disciplines, comparable to the best in the world. The curricula for these Programs are designed to provide the students with opportunities to develop academic talent leading to challenging and rewarding professional life. The curricula are regularly updated at IISc & IITs. The interdisciplinary content of the curricula equips the students with the ability to utilize scientific knowledge for practical applications. Tata Institute Of Social Sciences (TISS): National Entrance Test 2013 - Form Submission Deadline

Entrance Test : December 15, 2013 TISS invites application for the academic year 2014-16 for the following Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programmes (M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A., M.P.H.) Offered from Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses Reservation: As per Government of India norms, Mumbai, Tuljapur and Guwahati Campuses provide 15%, 7.5% and 27% reservation to Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe and Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) for each of the programmes. In addition, Persons With Disabilities (PWD) are eligible to 3% of the supernumerary seats. As per agreement with Ministry of Development of North-East Region, Government of India, Guwahati Campus allots 66% of the seats to candidates from eight North Eastern States. And the 34% of the seats are for candidates from other parts of the country. Persons With Disabilities (PWD) are eligible to 3% of the supernumerary seats. Association Of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) Test For Management Admissions - ATMA Online - Form Submission Deadline

Downloading of Admit Cards : December 04, 2013 Online Test : December 08, 2013 (between 2.00 p.m to 5.00 p.m) Results : December 16, 2013 AIMS organizes "AIMS Test For Management Admissions (ATMA)" a standard test for admission to postgraduate management programmes. ATMA approved by the AICTE, is focused on the student. It is designed to assess the aptitude for management education including verbal skills, quantitative skills ans analytical reasoning of students. ATMA has been approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India for admission on All India Basis to the MBA / PGDM and other Postgraduate Programmes like MCA. AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) is one of the six (ATMA, CAT, CMAT, GMAT, MAT and XAT) National Level Tests recognized by the AICTE/ MHRD, GoI for admissions to MBA/PGDM courses. The national level status of ATMA has been confirmed by the Supreme Court also. Starting from November 2013 till July, 2014, AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) is planned on the following dates at 30 cities across the country: Sunday, 08th December, 2013 .. Online Test (Internet Based Test) Sunday, 16th February, 2014 .. Paper based Test with online Regn Sunday, 25th May, 2014 .. Online Test (IBT) Sunday, 20th July, 2014 .. Online Test (IBT) The test results (except for the Paper based) will be announced in about ten days from the date of the test and the scores of the candidates opting for your Institute will be made available through website, with an individual password. Eligibility:- Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Students appearing for their final year examinations are also eligible to apply ATMA :: How to Prepare ATMA seeks to measure the aptitude of the student for higher management education. Such an aptitude in a person is typically shaped and developed over a long period of time and cannot be altered in a short time frame. Hence, preparation for ATMA cannot be similar to that of university examinations. However, familiarity with aptitude tests and speed can be improved with diligent and regular preparation. AIMS does not recommend any particular preparatory course or training for ATMA, though these may be effective in varying degrees. Working out the'Sample Tests' is likely to help the candidate. Test Administration ATMA will be administered in the Computer labs of colleges. The address of the Test Venue is given on the Admit Card. Report to the Test Venue not later than half-an-hour before commencement of the Test. The lower part of admit card is "Identity Card for ATMA". The candidate is required to obtain invigilator's signature on it, then detach the lower part and retain the same for future use. Take your assigned seat in the Test lab. Change of seat is not permitted without the explicit permission of the Test Supervisor. Instructions regarding Test Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully before attempting the test. There are 180 questions spread over 6 sections. Total time allotted for the test is 180 minutes. For each correct answer 1 mark will be given and for each incorrect answer 0.25 mark deducted from the score. You will be redirected to next question automatically after attempting a question. Click the 'Next' Button to skip a question and move on to next question. You may revise an answer by selecting the question no. from the list. Click the 'End Test' button to close the test at any point of time. For any reason, if test gets disrupted, you may restart the test by logging in again. In such a case, you will not be able to change the answers attempted in the previous session for security reasons. However, you will be allowed full three hours without counting any time lost in any interruption. Nature of the Test The questions cover Analytical Reasoning, Quantitative, and Verbal skills. The following table shows the structure of ATMA. Total time allotted for the test is 180 minutes. Discipline at the Test Centre Candidates must follow the instructions of the Test Supervisors in the Test lab. Violation of the instructions or any unethical practices will disqualify the candidate. The decision of the Supervisor in this regard will be final. Maintain the discipline and decorum of the test centre. Always follow the instructions of the Test Supervisors. Books, notepapers, calculators, slide-rules, mobile phones and other electronic devices are not permissible. Giving / seeking / receiving help in any manner during the Test is prohibited. Cancellation of the Test Results A candidate's score will be cancelled by the office of ATMA, if any misconduct or unfair practice by the candidate is detected, by any of the several available means. A candidate whose result is cancelled, will not receive her/his score and will be informed accordingly.

Duration : 4 years The applicant must hold a Bachelors/Masters degree of any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or possess an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE. Non-fulfillment of these conditions will automatically result in cancellation of the admission. FPM candidates have to submit GMAT/GRE/GATE/UGC JRF (research) results taken during the year December 1,2012 and December 20,2013. Those who have done their PGP from XLRI, any IIM, MDI Gurgaon, FMS Delhi or XIM Bhubaneswar, with a CQPI of at least 6.00/8.00 or equivalent will also be exempted from appearing in the XAT. Short listed candidates will be required to appear for a personal interview during February-March, 2014 at XLRI, Jamshedpur for the final selection. Instructions for FPM Applicant: The candidate can choose one out of two functional area, depending on eligibility. Before starting the online registration, make sure you have a DD made. The DD of Rs 1500/- is to be made in favour of " XLRI Jamshedpur A/c Prospectus " payable at Jamshedpur. The candidate has to download the XLRI CONFIRMATION PAGE (Non-XAT FPM) after completing the online registration. The candidate has to paste his/her recent passport size colour photograph and put his/her signature in the space provided in the form. The form is then to be sent to Admission Office along with the DD/BC. The candidates should write "Admissions for FPM (Non-XAT)" on the envelopes.

Date of IIAST (screening test):- 14 December 2013 Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) invites applications for admissions to Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D Programme in Astronomical Instrumentation in collaboration with department of allied optics and photonics, university of Calcutta. Duration: The normal duration of the Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D programme will be 6 years, including 2 years for the master degree. Eligibility: B.Tech. degree (Post BSc Hons) in Optics and Optoelectronics / Radio Physics and Electronics from CU or B.Tech / BE degree in Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Electronics and Communications /Computer Science and Engineering from an institution recognized by AICTE. A candidate with M.Sc degree in Physics / Electronic Science / Applied Mathematics /Applied Physics from a UGC recognized institution is also eligible to apply. All India Institute Of Medical Sciences: PG/Post Doctoral Entrance 2014 - Form Submission Deadline

MD/MS/M.Ch/MDS entrance test:- 10.11.2013 DM/M.Ch/MHA entrance test:- 05.12.2013 Ph.D entrance test:- 19.01.2014 Applications are invited in the prescribed form through online mode for entrance test to be conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences on 15 th October, 2013 for admission to various PG/Post Doctoral Courses (MD/MS/M.Ch/MDS/DM/MHA/Ph.D) for January 2014 session. Eligibility: DM/MCh A Candidate must possess a degree in MD/MS or DNB from a University recognized by the MCI The candidate who are likely to complete 3 years requisite tenure and degree by 30th January, 2014 may also apply. However, the candidates who complete their 3 years requisite tenure after 30th January, 2014 are not eligible to take up this examination. MHA (1) The candidate must possess MBBS or an equivalent degree with a minimum experience of three years in a hospital in the relevant field or five years in general practice. A certificate issued by the District Magistrate in support of the general practice claimed should be enclosed with the application. (2) The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in all MBBS professional examinations for other category including OBC category and 50% for candidate belonging to SCs/STs. Ph.D (1) A degree of Master of Sciences or Master's degree in any subject allied to Bio Medical Sciences or Master's Degree in Nursing with at least 60% marks or Master of Surgery or Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree or Diplomat of the National Board of Examinations. (2) MBBS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the professional examinations. MD/MS/MDS 1) A candidate must possess MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS courses of a University recognized by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India and must have completed the required period of 12 months compulsory rotating internship/Practical training on or before 30th January, 2014. The candidate who complete their internship after 30th January, 2014 are not eligible to take up this examination. 2) The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in all the MBBS/BDS professional examinations for other category including OBC category and 50% for candidate belonging to SCs/STs. Application Procedure:- The prospectus is available on its official website and must be read by the applicants before applying. The cost of online Application-cum-Examination fee is Rs.1000/- (Rs.800/- in case of SC/ST candidates). A candidate can submit application only On-Line through Internet. The candidate can pay the application fee through a challan form (down loaded from internet while applying on-line) in any branch of State Bank of India. Transaction Processing Fee (as applicable) will be payable to the Bank by the candidate. NOTE: 1. Candidates are required to bring AIIMS copy of Challan Form to the Examination Hall on the day of Examination and Deposit the same with Invigilator at the time of attendance. 2. Candidates are NOT required to send any documents, including Registration slip to AIIMS.
